River Tees at Barnard Castle

Brown & migratory trout. Free fishing (no permit required) for 500yds along both banks between Barnard Castle Bridge (the County Bridge) & Thorngate Footbridge.

Raby Estate to Middleton-in-Teesdale

Brown & Rainbow trout. Approx. 8 miles north (left) bank from Cauldron Snout downstream to Middelton-in-Teesdale.

Witton Castle Lakes

3 lakes providing approx. 17 acres of bank fishing. Rainbow trout. Barbless fly fishing only. Ample car parking & toilet facilities. permits/day tickets required.

Canoeing

Teesdale Canoe Club

Teesdale Canoe Club,
Kingsway Adventure Centre,
Middleton in Teesdale.

River Tees

Canoeing downstream from High Force. Permits required.

Sailing

Teesdale Sailing Club

Sailing on Grassholme Reservoir. All day Sunday, some Saturdays, each Bank Holiday. All classes of dinghy. Visitors welcome.

Water Skiing

Balderhead Water Ski Club

Water skiing at Balderhead Reservoir Saturdays & Sundays, April to end of October.
