The Cottage at Alwent Mill is situated off Alwent Mill Lane – a very quiet single track road which runs off the B6274 between Winston and Raby Castle and Staindrop alongside farming and private estate land – and is almost equal distance between the three villages of Gainford, Staindrop and Winston.Googlemap The villages provide a wide range of shopping and all amenities– with good pubs and food nearby.

The Cottage is light and airy throughout, very spacious and is central heated.

The kitchen opens onto a spacious dining area and comfortable seating for 4 to 6 people and includes plenty of storage space with TV / DVD player.

A perfect base for relaxing or exploring, within 10 miles are the historic towns of Barnard Castle, Richmond and Darlington and within the hour excursions can be made to the Lake District, Durham, Newcastle, Northumberland, the Durham Dales and High Force and Swaledale and Wensleydale.
